SICK SET OF BOOKMARKLETS (SSoB)

What Is This?

A collection of a few bookmarklets from a range of sources, such as old forums, websites from the WayBack machine, bookmarklet tutorial websites and a few custom ones.

Setup Instructions

Navigate through the following steps, following them as applicable:

  1. Download the bookmarklet_bookmarks.html file from this GitHub repository (Sick-Set-Of-Bookmarklets), then move to step two.
  2. Open your chrome-based browser (others may work but haven't been tested). Move to step three.
  3. Click on the three lines/dots button to the far right of the search bar. Move to step four.
  4. If there is a Bookmarks menu cascade move to step five, otherwise move to step six.
  5. Click on the Bookmarks cascade menu and find the Import Bookmarks And Settings... button, if you find it go to step seven, otherwise go to step eight.
  6. Open your browser's settings page and search for Bookmarks then if you find the Import Bookmarks And Settings... button go to step seven, otherwise go to step eight.
  7. In the sources drop-down box select Bookmarks HTML File and tick the Favourites/Bookmarks checkbox if it exists. Move to step nine.
  8. Find your browser's Bookmarks Manager, you can find it in the settings or right click on your bookmarks bar and then choosing the Bookmarks Manager button. Move to step ten.
  9. Click the Choose File button if applicable and then navigate through the file explorer to where you saved/downloaded the bookmarklet_bookmarks.html file to choose it and then go to step eleven.
  10. Click on the three dots/lines button for the bookmarks manager, it should be in the top right-hand corner then click on Import Bookmarks, or similar then move to step nine if it opens a file explorer or step seven if it takes you to one of your browser's settings pages and displays a popup box.
  11. If your bookmarks bar has a new folder named Imported go to step twelve, if nothing has changed then you have made a mistake or your browser doesn't support importing this file as a bookmark, or if you have a new folder named Bookmarklets in your bookmarks bar then go to step thirteen.
  12. Navigate through the Imported bookmarks folder to the Bookmarklets folder, then drag the Bookmarklets folder to your bookmarks bar (or wherever you want it to be). Delete the now bookmark-less Imported bookmarks folder and move to step thirteen.
  13. You're done, if your followed this properly you should now be able to use the bookmarklets that you downloaded.

How To Use These Bookmarklets

Bookmarklets are bookmarks, but instead of containing a URL that your browser moves you to they instead specify that they contain JavaScript code that is to be executed on the current website you are browsing. All you need to be able to do as a user of a bookmarklet is be able to move your mouse over to their location on your bookmarks bar and click on them. If you want to edit them (change their name, or their code) find them in your bookmarks bar or bookmarks manager, right click on them, and then choose the edit button.

If you are looking to code your own bookmarklets and you already understand javascript you can use the Bookmarklet Devkit to convert your JavaScript code into a one line version easily.

Below is a list of the bookmarklets included in the bookmarklet_bookmarks.html file and an explanation of what they do.

Bookmarklet Documentation

Reloading your page will remove/end the effect of all (if any) bookmarklet that you have used on it. Bookmarklets work on a page per page basis, so using one will only affect the page that you are currently viewing. Also, not that any changes you have on the page are only on your end and don't actually change the website or effect other people on other computers experience.

Edit Mode

  • On: Toggles your ability to edit the page to true. You will be able to re-write text, paste image or text, delete elements and similar editing actions. Note that these changes are only visible on your end and will not actually change the website, which is in fact true for all of these bookmarklets.
  • Off: Toggles your ability to edit the page to false.

Accessibility

  • Enable Right Click: Lets you right click on websites that have right clicking disabled.
  • Zoom Objects: Will increase the size of certain aspects of the page, such as images.
  • Add Green, Red, or Blue Borders: Adds green, red, or blue borders around all of the html objects/elements on the page.
  • Remove Maxlength: Allows you to write more characters into a text input field than you would otherwise be allowed by restrictions, this may cause websites to break when you submit the text or may cause other things to happen, such as the extra you wrote to be deleted.
  • Enlarge Text Areas: Increases the size of all input text areas by five lines.
  • Remove All Options: Uncheck all checkboxes, even if you would otherwise have to chooses on or another.
  • Show Hiddens: Reveals any hidden objects\elements on the page.
  • Safen Tab: Makes a popup asking if you're sure that you want to close the tab whenever you try and close it.
  • Bypass Youtube: Bypass Youtube adult filter without signing in.
  • Enable Text Selection: Lets you select text on the page.

Power Tools

  • Hello: Causes the website to display a message box with the words Hello, world! in it. You could easily change the message by editing the bookmark and finding Hello, world! and then replacing it with something else.
  • Sort Table Alphabetically: Adds a button to all tables that allows you to either make the table sort alphabetically, or sort the way it was originally.
  • View Selection: Opens the stuff you currently have highlighted in a new tab.
  • Open All Links: Opens all of the links on the page.
  • Link Text As URLs: Changes all of the links on the page with their alt-text.
  • Bullets To Num-List: Converts all bullet-lists into numbered-lists.
  • Random Number: Will ask for a minimum and a maximum and then choose a random number in that range inclusive.
Forms
  • Show Passwords: Shows a message box with all of the passwords that have been entered into the page.
  • Toggle Checkboxes: Toggles all checkboxes.
  • Tick Checkboxes: Ticks all checkboxes.
  • Untick Checkboxes: Unticks all checkboxes.
  • Untick Radiobuttons: Unticks all radiobuttons.
  • Ticks Radiobuttons: Ticks the last radiobutton in each set, and sets the rest to false.
  • Untick Radiobutton: Click on a radiobutton to clear the selection, may break websites.
  • Proceed Radiobuttons: Selects the next option in each group of radiobuttons.

Style/Formatting

  • ToggleCSS: Turns off CSS use of the page if it is on and turns it on if it is off.
  • Lowercase: Converts all text into its lowercase form, doesn't work on images.
  • Linearize: Moves all of the text and other objects so that they are middle-centred and are positioned in the middle of the screen.
  • Big Zap: Removes unneeded formatting, makes the color scheme more normal and removes objects that make it harder to read.
  • Basic Coloring: Changes the text color to black, blue for URLs/links and purple for unvisited ones, also sets the background to white.

Images

  • Zoom Images+: Doubles the size of all images on the page.
  • Zoom Images-: Halves the size of all images on the page.
  • Reload Images: Reloads all of the images on the page, can help with bad internet connections or if an image didn't load properly.
  • Hide All Images: Removes all of the images on the page.
  • Download All Images: Downloads all images on the page.
  • Rotate Images: Opens a message popup box asking for a degree then rotates all images on the page by that degree.
  • Images To Alt Text: Replaces all images on the page with their alt-text.
  • Images to SRC: Replaces all images with their source URL (SRC).
  • Kill Gifs: Makes all gifs completely black, doesn't work on all websites.

Color

  • Grayscale: Makes everything black, white, and gray.
  • Anti─Grayscale: Makes everything colorful.
  • Invert Lightness: Inverts the lightness of all non-image objects on the page.
  • Invert Objects: Inverts the lightness of all media on the page, such as images.
  • Hue+: Increases the hue value of colors on the page.
  • Hue-: Decreases the hue value of colors on the page.
  • Saturation+: Slightly increases the saturation of the page.
  • Saturation-: Slightly decreases the saturation of the page.
  • Saturation++: Sets the saturation of the website to 1 (high).
  • Saturation--: Sets the saturation of the website to 0 (none).
  • Lightness+: Makes the page slightly lighter.
  • Lightness-: Makes the page slightly less light.
  • Accent: Changes most colored aspects of the page to the selected color. Doesn't change images.

Shaders

  • Jiggle: Makes all objects on the page move around randomly back and forward.
  • Fall Diagonally: Makes all objects on the current page fall in random directions and then reset and loop.
  • Tri: Allows you to view the page as if it is 3D, it will layer objects and has other 3D visuals also, it even has a menu.
  • YTGlow: Has an effect like YouTube's ambient mode, but it works on all videos and works by adding a blur effect behind the video. This bookmarklet is a switch, meaning it will toggle if it is on or not, and you don't have to reload to get rid of it.
  • Funky Focus: Causes the currently selected/focused on object of the page to wiggle back and forwarth.
Filters
  • Blur: Opens a popup message asking for the pixel radius of the blur filter and then applies it to the page. It is recommended to use a value between 0 and 5.
  • Terminal: Makes the page look like a retro terminal, with the background black, most images gone, most text green but links in red.
  • Bring The Links: Makes all text grey but links bright red, so you can see them more easily.
  • Sepia: Applies the maximum sepia filter to a page.
  • Refralect: Spltis the page up into shards and does some reflection.
  • Glitch: Introduces a glitch effect by randomly altering the RGB color values of the webpage elements.
  • Negative: Performs color inversion to invert the colors of the webpage, creating a negative image effect.
  • Glow: Applies an intense green glow to all text on the website.
  • Vintage: Applies retro-style filters to a webpage, giving it a nostalgic or vintage look and changes the color of links to an orangy-brown tone.

Data

  • Transpose Tables: Transposes all tables on the page (makes the rows into the columns and vice-versa at the same instant).
  • Index Table Rows: Adds a new column at the start of each table that has an index in it for each row starting at 1 and not including the heading/top row.
  • Character And Word Count: Opens a message box that tells you the number of characters currently on the page and the number of spaces (approximation of the number of words).
  • View Cookies: Will show the contents of the cookies from the page in a popup.
  • Zap Cookies: Deletes the cookies of the current page.
  • Show All URLs: Displays a popup showing the ULR of the page and all f-frames, each seperated by two newlines.
  • Fount: Lets you click anywhere on the page and then tries to identify the font being used where you clicked.

Games

  • Mouselight: Makes you mouse act light a mirrored flashlight.
  • Triangle: Makes a triangle that you can control with the arrow keys and shoot with the ?// button.
  • Two Triangle: Makes a red triangle that can be controlled with the arrow keys, and a blue one with the wasd keys.
  • Tic: Lets you play a game of Ultimate Tic-Tac-Toe, who's rules are explained at the following website Ultimate Tic-Tac-Toe Rules
  • Spin: This will make any page object start to spin once you click it.
  • Autoclicker: Select the CPS you want then click where you want the autoclicker to start.
  • Autoclicker X: Does some crazy autoclicking. Can't be turned off.
  • Lupire: Lets you play a game following the rules on the following website Pinball Recall

Zap

  • Big Zap: Zaps plugins, colors, cheap effects, event handlers, and timers.
  • Zap Plugins: Removes java, flash, background music, and third-party iframes.
  • Zap Colors: Makes text black on a white background, and makes links blue and purple.
  • Zap Events: Removes event handlers, killing blind links and exit pop-up ads.
  • Zap Timers: Removes timers that were created with setTimeout or setInterval.
  • Zap Images: Replaces each image with its alternate text (ALT text).
  • Zap Presentational HTML: Removes most presentational attributes and tags while leaving style sheets intact.
  • Zap Style Sheets: Disables all style sheets.
  • Zap Cookies: Removes cookies set by the site, including cookies with paths and domains.
  • Zap White BG: Changes white and near-white backgrounds to tan.
  • Normalcase: Makes body text and text in textareas all-lowercase.
  • Remove Redirects: Changes redirecting links to go directly to the 'real' target.
  • Restore Selecting: Fixes pages that disable text selection.
  • Restore Context Menu: Fixes pages that disable context menus.

URL Tool Kit

  • Tree Up: Goes up a directory from the page you're viewing.
  • Tree Down: Goes to the top level of the site.
  • Increment: Increases the last number in the URL by 1.
  • Decrement: Decreases the last number in the URL by 1.
  • Go To Referrer: Like clicking the back button, but works even after opening a link in a new window.
  • Domain Owner: Tells you who owns the domain of the page you're viewing.
  • History First: Goes to the first page in this tab's history.

Text

  • Selection ROT13: Replaces each letter in the selected text with its rot13 equivalent.
  • Caesar Cipher Selection: Asks for a shift amount. Then, using that shift amount replaces each letter in the selected text with its Caesar-Cipher equivalent.
  • Highlight Search: Highlights each occurrence of a search phrase.
  • Highlight REGEX: Highlights each match for a regular expression (regex).
  • Encode Morsecode: Replaces each letter in the selected text with its Morse-Code equivalent.
  • Decode Morsecode: Replaces the selected Morse-Code with it's Latin equivalent.

Sites

  • Color Picker: Opens the chrome color picker tool.
  • Timer: Opens the chrome timer tool with the time you supplied in the popup message.
  • Calculator: Opens the chrome calculator tool.
  • Unit Conversion: Opens the chrome units conversion tool.
  • Wiki Search: Searches for the currently selected text in Wikipedia.
  • Wikirandom: When used on a Wikipedia page it will choose a random link on that page and open it in the current tab.
  • ASCII Table: Opens a new window with an ASCII table in it.
Graphing
  • Flower: Opens a new tab and searches with the graph equation for making a flower-like 3D graph.
  • Funnel: Opens a new tab and searches with the graph equation for making a funnel-like 3D graph.
  • Heart: Opens a new tab and searches with the graph equation for making a heart-like 3D graph.
