v1.0.0

🎉 Announcing v1.0 Stable Release of semantic-pr-release-drafter!

This marks the completion of all initial P0 and P1 features planned in the #1 mission statement: Mission of this Fork: Label-free release drafting based on semantic commit titles

From the README.md:

Besides the change from label-based to commit-based release logic, this fork adds a number of new QoL features:

  • ✅ Zero-config lovable defaults - Works out-of-the-box with lovable defaults. No config file or inline inputs required.
  • 🔰 Inline config inputs - Configure the action directly in your workflow file without needing a separate config file (see Inline Configuration).
  • 💾 Attach File Assets - Idempotent file asset attachment - allows you to define the draft text as well as the release assets all in one step.
  • 🚀 Pre-1.0 Semver Safety - Correctly handles version bumps for pre-1.0 projects according to semver rules (major bumps become minor bumps, minor bumps become patch bumps).
  • 💹 Marketing-Friendly Semver - Supports marketing-friendly semver rules, namely: full control whether major version bumps are triggered by breaking changes or based on consent and deliberation.
  • 📃 Choose Inline OR File-Based Config - Supports both inline config inputs and file-based config, allowing you to choose the method that best fits your workflow.
  • 🔒 Version Preservation - Respects manually-set draft release versions. If you set a draft to v2.0.0, the action will never bump it backwards. Prerelease identifiers (like -beta, -rc.1) are preserved exactly. See Version Preservation.
  • 🎯 Scope-Based Categories - Group changes by commit scope (e.g., all sentry changes together) in addition to commit type. Supports AND logic when combining scopes and types. See Scope-Based Categories.
  • 📊 Display Order Control - Decouple category evaluation order from display order. Categories are evaluated top-to-bottom but can be displayed in any order using display-order. See Display Order.
  • 🔤 Sentence-Case Titles - Automatically normalizes commit titles to sentence case for consistent, professional-looking release notes.
