Feature Request: Linux Version of Codex Desktop App

Hi OpenAI team,

The Codex desktop app is a strong addition to the AI-assisted development workflow. However, it is currently macOS-only.

Many developers use Linux as their primary development environment (backend, cloud, embedded, open-source). A native Linux version would significantly improve accessibility and adoption.

Request:

Is there a planned timeline for a Linux release?

Will there be native packages (.deb / .rpm / AppImage)?

Any preview builds available for testing?

Linux is a core platform for serious development workflows, and official support would be highly valuable.
