+1 , it's rare that our opened tabs are relevant to the prompt we write, especially when you work on multiple features and/or run multiple agents in parallel. Very often, the output is bad quality because this feature is automatically enabled when we start a new chat and I didn't remember to disable it. For example on a chat where I run changes on one file, if I simply ask to reword (without specifying what file) and keep the IDE Context option enabled, it will reword the opened file instead of the file that previously changed in the chat. That makes no sense. Please simply add an option to definitively disable IDE Context by default. |

Please remove this annoying IDE context feature from the VS Code Codex extension, or at least let us fully disable it.
In practice, it doesn’t help. I can always provide better context myself. And every time I remove it, it shows up again—which is honestly driving me a bit crazy.
I really like Codex, especially the VS Code extension, but this is one thing I don’t like.
