github.io links fail

This is slick, and I am testing with a lot of links. What I was looking for was a way to shorten some long links for a github hosted tool that has long URLs, e.g.

https://cogdog.github.io/splot-docsify/?basePath=https%3A%2F%2Fraw.githubusercontent.com%2Fcogdog%2Fsplotbox%2Fmaster%2F#/

but I keep getting invalid URL errors on ones like https://cogdog.github.io/go/2

In fact any simple one like https://cogdog.github.io/splot-docsify fails.
