Revise --slice for better balancing

When splitting the list of tests into 3 with e.g. --slice 2/3, instead of splitting [1,2,3,4,5,6,7] into [[1,2,3], [4,5], [6,7]], split it into [[1,4,7], [2,5], [3,6]].
