Here is one to kick off the discussion.

This is a simple setup with pcmanfm-qt --desktop, xfce4-panel, labwc-tweaks and labwc-menu-generator.

It uses the labTeallach theme in labwc/labwc-themes with a couple of minor tweaks

Looking fancy. Just wondering why there is no title on labwc-tweaks?
I really like how it mixes lxqt and xfce components :)

And yay for keeping the "Floppy" easteregg in there!

I have had another go. I can't make up my mind what I think of it tbh. Parts of my prefers a more co-ordinated palette - but less noise with icons, etc. I feel I need a few days away from it to get some perspective.

I think the screenshot is perfectly fine. IMHO its mostly to show what is possible with labwc and give a quick first-time impression rather than showcasing a specific theme or color palette. I think we could use it as is and also mention that it mixes the desktop "shell" from lxqt and the panel from xfce to bring that point across. I think your description from the first post would work fine, e.g. something like

Simple setup with pcmanfm-qt --desktop, xfce4-panel, labwc-tweaks and labwc-menu-generator using the labTeallach theme with a couple of minor tweaks.

And the single components maybe being links.
