If the latest snapshot for network N is somehow flawed, for example due to a bug, then re-generating another snapshot with a patched pathfinder will be tricky, because this requires a snapshot which end before the buggy pathfinder version was rolled out in gcp.
Having older snapshots stored as a backup should help should the above ever happen.
