could you modifiy the generator to make small islands under the skylands and make those skylands about 80blocks higher ?

because with the black void it looks.....not soooo pretty

Edit: Maybe you could generate a infinite ocean biome under the skylands...
Edit: Well, i guess i dont even need islands. Maybe just 1 LayerBedrock,1 StoneLayer,5 SandLayers and 20 Water Layers.

I've considered it before, the problem is that the huge shadows of the islands create client issues :/
