Could you provide on README a simple example using an ESM Module and how to organize the projects and install dependencies ? just to have a more realistic example to try out before deepening any further (for the impatients!)

You compare with Node, but can you add bunjs at least, as it might be the reference for performance nowadays and people might expect it?

Hey @jgranduel, great feedback — you were correct, the README was overdue for an update.

We've just overhauled it (89d591c) addressing both of your points:

• ESM example with project structure — there's now a full multi-file API server example (Fastify with routes, config, and ESM imports) showing how to organize a project, install deps, and compile. We also added a table of 8 ready-to-run example projects in example-code/ (express+postgres, hono+mongodb, nestjs+typeorm, etc.) so you can clone and try them out immediately.

• Bun benchmarks — the performance table now includes Bun 1.3 alongside Node.js v24. Perry is competitive with Bun and significantly faster than Node on compute-heavy workloads. Note that the current numbers are from older versions — I'll be re-running and updating the benchmarks in the next few days.

If you run into any issues getting a project working, feel free to open an issue with your code and we're happy to help debug it directly.

@jgranduel Just a note: I've updated all benchmarks in the readme. Includes shortcomings too - a lot of work to be done, but overall this is pretty cool (I think).
