This mainly applies to starting without the spacesuit.
Currently, there are plenty of checks that are considered to be in logic, and are technically possible, but either carry a high risk of dying or guarantee that you do so. Examples of such checks include basically every single translation check that isn't covered by trees.
More notable examples include the eye texts at the Old Settlement on Brittle Hollow, the recording at the EOTE map satellite, and reaching the ATP with scrambled warp platforms. Save for perhaps some obscure tech, I'm not aware of any way to get those checks without dying (except getting lucky with the last one).
The Old Settlement barely has any space to land your ship, let alone landing it close enough that you can run to the wall and get back. The satellite recording literally has you going out into space without a suit to get it. And for all of the warp platforms on Ash Twin (except the Timber Hearth one), there is simply no way you can run to them, go through, go back, and get to your ship without dying, unless you get lucky and there happens to be oxygen on the other side.
The only way to not trigger death link with these is to have it set to default and then meditate right after getting the check. Which is not something that you should have to do IMO, but also, if you have it set to all deaths, you're just screwed either way.
You could override the death link in the mod options, but a lot of these checks are still annoying to get due to your character not being able to hold their breath for longer than about 5 seconds. And realistically, you get more like 3 since leaving and entering the ship takes some time and your oxygen is only replenished if you're fully inside the ship. That may be fine if you can land right next to the text you're translating, but if you have to walk more than a few steps, it becomes significantly more risky and time consuming.
I'd suggest having an option for whether to allow such checks into logic without needing the suit. It could be split into (for example) "safe" (check is fully covered by oxygen), "low risk" (has oxygen next to it or can be landed next to with the ship), "high risk" (requires considerable walking, messing up slightly or taking a bit too long is likely to kill you), and "unrestricted" (anything goes, even if you will die after getting it).
PS: The projection stone logs at the Construction Yard on Giant's Deep can be gotten without dying, but require astronomically precise ship positioning and movement.
