Some language/location options are not available

I just installed GrapheneOS SP1A.211105.004.2021110617 on a Pixel 5.

I believe I could not select the language English (Germany) at the initial setup wizard, so I chose English (US) as an alternative. But later, English (Germany) was available in the language settings menu, and worked as expected (i.e. setting 24h clock format by default).

I have GrapheneOS SP1A.211105.004.2021110617 installed on a Pixel 5.

I'm unable to see English (Germany) on my end. Where exactly do you see this locale/language variant as an option?

Same problem with "English(France)".

Isn't it that the "short" language list corresponds to the translations available for the GOS setup wizard and that the "long" language list corresponds to the AOSP translations ?

In my opinion, the best approach would be to set first my language (language I speak, for example "English"), and in second place my locale (place where I live, timezone, dates format, units, ...). Both should be independent selections.
